I yearn for the days when I had to travel miles to find a phone booth so I could make a call. I miss the time when I had to use a slide rule. I want to feel real paper in my hands as I get the latest news the day after it happened.

Technology has robbed me of those simple pleasures.

I, for one, don't miss those days. Things are so much easier now. Of course I fear we are bringing up a generation that will lose the abilities us old folks had to use that are now replaced by computers.

I don't miss them either but my biggest pet peeve is when the kids can't or won't put down the cell phones.

Everyone is sitting around in the Family Room with their noses buried in their cell phones.

It makes it almost impossible to have a normal conversation with anyone. :gr_banghead:

I couldn't survive without my phone and tablet.

Funny thing is I am a child of the mobile era. I would be lost without my phone. I do vaguely remember my dad telling to me watch for the next phone booth when we went somewhere. Seems he always had to make a phone shortly after we left the house.

I had to embrace it as my career went on in the Navy. It was learn or be left behind. I do love the modern gadgets. Keeps my mind young learning new things.
